Correct me if I'm wrong.....

This weekend my mom (aka Grandma Julie) came over to visit and help. She went to the grocery store for me since we were out of, well, everything. Drew ended up going with her and apparently, when they left the store, Grandma allowed Drew to ride the helicopter ride at the front of the store.

Drew came home and excitedly exclaimed, "I got to ride the heli-doctor!"

Nate looked at him with disgust and said, "No, Drew, it's not 'heli-doctor', it's 'heli-cockter'." Complete with a very sarcastic eye-roll. :-)

Candy Conundrum (Or, how sarcasm is rather lost on a 4 year old...)

Halloween candy always creates a dilemma for me. We don't eat an excessive amount of candy, as a family, so I think one gluttonous holiday for my children is okay. I can't decide if it's better to spread the candy out over several days/weeks - only allowing my children 1-2 pieces per day, or if it's better to just let them gorge themselves on their candy, getting rid of it MUCH more quickly than is healthy!

Today, after church, the boys each ate a piece or two of Halloween candy. Nate approached Warren and said, "may we eat more candy, please?"

Warren replied sarcastically that, "just eat it all gone - or until you start to get sick."

Nate was overjoyed by this response! He ran out into the hallway yelling to his brothers, "Dad said we could eat all of our candy! But if we start to get sick we hafta stop..."

Warren and I just laughed! I do wish the candy would just go away, though...

Raindrops

As most of you probably know from reading my main Lifewithlittleboys blog, Matthew has a brain tumor and is in the hospital. The other day my mom (grandma Julie) and grandmother (grandma Donna) picked the 3 little boys up from my friends house to take them somewhere. They ended up stopping at McDonalds and letting the boys play for awhile. While there, Grandma Donna started crying - everyone is apt to begin crying at any moment in this family right now! Nate came up to her and tenderly asked:

"Grandma, why is there a raindrop on your face???"

So Sweet!!

Suprise!

The other day Nate, Drew, and I were in the laundry room. Nate looked at my expanding belly and said, "Mom, when we get our baby will it be a boy or a girl?" Since this pregnancy we are being suprised by the gender, I told him, "when the baby comes out, we are going to be suprised!"

Nate excitedly replied,

"Well, can it be a POODLE!!!"

Um, no..... :-)

Maybe he is old enough for Primary...

Nate and Drew are Sunbeams! I can't believe that my babies are 3 years old and go to Primary now. Yesterday, I was doing Sharing Time and calling on children to tell me commandments that they can keep. Nate had his hand up so high and wanted to be called on so badly. I called on him, and he paused for a few seconds. I didn't think he understood what I was asking, so I started trying to prompt him by saying, "what do we do every night before bed, when we fold our arms." His teacher was also whispering to him, telling him to say, "say prayers." Nate hesitated for another minute and then said, very calmly, "we can get baptized." I was blown away! These little children understand more than we realize. I was so proud of him!

Charmed, I'm sure...

Nate is cute - even when he is in the midst of a knock-down drag-out temper tantrum. Warren caught Nate at one of his finer 3-year-old moments. We were decorating the Christmas tree and something made Nate grumpy because his little face turned to this:

Then it quickly became this:

Charming Nate, at his finest 3 year old self. Forever preserved here on my Blog!
